How much do BNG units cost?

We can deliver offsets of any size (subject to a minimum payment). Whether you’re building a single dwelling or a multi-phase development, our flexible habitat banks can meet your exact BNG requirement.
How quickly can you supply BNG units?
We pride ourselves on being quick to quote and quick to submit your allocation once you have paid for the units. Once you have accepted our quote we will raise an invoice. After the invoice is paid we will submit your offset to the national register, typically within 2 working days. Natural England then allow up to six weeks to process the application and show the allocation on the register which is the final stage you need to help discharge the off-site element of your BNG condition.
Do I need to appoint a lawyer?
No, this is a very simple sale and purchase agreement. As a developer you pay BioGains to take on your offsite BNG liability. After payment, BioGains registers the unit allocation on the national register at which point you have no further responsibility for the delivery of these units. BioGains take that liability on for the full 30 year period.

How early should I secure BNG units?

Yes — BioGains’ nationwide network of habitat banks allows us to source units within or near your Local Planning Authority (LPA) boundary, helping you comply with local preference policies.
How are BioGains habitat banks verified?
Every BioGains habitat bank is designed by professional ecologists, verified by the Local Planning Authority, and reviewed by Natural England before inclusion on the national Biodiversity gain sites register.
This ensures complete transparency and long-term ecological integrity.
What information do you need to provide a quote?
We just need your Statutory BNG Metric and development site location. With that, we can usually provide a quote within 24 hours.
